2. A fixture own_workspace_root was introduced in tests/conftest.py and adopted across all test modules whose subprocess shells source lib.sh or run wrappers/runners without mam_sandbox.
3. In commit ac48cb7, based on peer review feedback (claude, grok), tests/test_o1_rebuttal.py and tests/test_o2_race_free_lock.py::test_o2_12_run_loop_exits_on_lock_failure were also isolated with own_workspace_root, and added to tests/test_issue17_workspace_root_isolation.py:NODES.
4. Dedicated regression tests (test_c_helpers_write_nothing_to_an_inherited_workspace, test_w1, test_w2) verify that sentinel workspaces receive zero writes, and running tests in a copy of the repository never creates .mam.
5. Full verification confirmed that with WORKSPACE_ROOT=<sentinel>, the sentinel directory remains completely empty after test runs.
6. Across all tested suites, 675 tests passed, 0 failed.
